Months after voluntarily dismissing a nearly two-year federal lawsuit, the former director of the Marietta Student Life Center has filed a new complaint in Cobb County Superior Court, alleging whistleblower retaliation by the Marietta Board of Education in the form of eliminating her position and gutting the center’s resources.
Sarah Barbour led the center from November 2021 until her termination in May 2025.
Established by former Marietta High School Principal Leigh Colburn in 2015, the Marietta Student Life Center supports the district’s students and families through various resources such as counseling, a food pantry and clothing closet, abuse and addiction recovery services and college and career coaching, among others…
