‘My hope is it goes away’: Social Circle leaders opposed to potential ICE facility

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — It’s been two weeks since a news organization’s report raised the possibility of an ICE detention facility being placed in Social Circle and Tuesday night, members of the community joined together to voice their opposition to the potential facility which would more than double their population.

The mayor and city manager of Social Circle told Atlanta News First they have still have not confirmed that this is even happening — but they are doing all they can to stop it just in case.
