Dozens of area residents gathered in Cherokee County in the rain Friday and Saturday to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement after a woman was fatally shot by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.
Woodstock CAN organized a series of weekend events that began with a vigil Friday night in downtown Woodstock in memory of Renee Good, a Minneapolis woman who was shot and killed by an ICE officer Wednesday. Participants held signs and electronic candles in the rain as cars passed on Main Street. According to Woodstock CAN, about 70 to 75 people attended.
