Kennesaw woman accused of DUI, running over person at gas station

Tamara Marie Morris, 39, of Kennesaw, is accused of driving a white 2020 Ford EcoSport under the influence of alcohol and running over a person around 12:50 a.m. on Feb. 8 following an altercation at the QuikTrip – 2761 Cobb Parkway, according to an arrest warrant from the Kennesaw Police Department.

One of the victim’s legs was broken in the incident. Morris left the scene, pulled over 0.3 miles away and called 911 to report that someone at the gas station jumped on her car and that her windshield was broken. Police made contact with Morris in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, detected a sweet odor emitting from the vehicle, observed her speech to be slurred and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Standardized Field Sobriety Test evaluations were conducted and Morris was found to be impaired, according to the warrant.

Police observed parts of the incident at the gas station on surveillance footage and confirmed the person that jumped on the hood of Morris’ vehicle was not the victim, but could not confirm if the windshield was broken in the course of the incident…
