Police: Man approached children while intoxicated at Town Center Mall

Lamar Kadeem McCray, 36, of Atlanta, is accused of urinating just outside of JCPenney and inside the interior section of Town Center at Cobb Mall on Feb. 16 at 5:39 p.m., according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

He is also accused of approaching people inside the mall’s food court area while under the influence of alcohol and drinking Jack Daniels from an insulated cup. As police approached McCray, another person alerted them that McCray had been drinking and was approaching children in the food court, according to the warrant.

When police made contact with McCray, he was standing near children and stated to police that he was asking them for money since he was homeless. Police said they could detect a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. His speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot, glassy and he could not walk without assistance.
