MARIETTA — The Cobb County Board of Education unanimously approved several construction projects Thursday, including the nearly $4.6 million demolition of McEachern High School’s home-side grandstands at Cantrell Stadium.
Though McEachern was scheduled for grandstand refurbishments as part of the current Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (Ed-SPLOST) program, an analysis by engineers determined the home side would need to be removed and replaced — a development Cobb Superintendent Chris Ragsdale previously described as “a surprise.”
