Frisco City Council Pulls Public Comment From Agendas Indefinitely

Frisco City Council meetings are changing. The council will no longer hold a general public comment period at its meetings. The announcement came during the June 2 council meeting, where Mayor Jeff Cheney told attendees the open citizen input section — where residents could address the council on topics not tied to a specific agenda item — had been removed with no set timeline for its return.

“You may have noticed that our agenda tonight is a little bit different,” Cheney said. “Normally, we have citizen input on our agenda that allows people to speak on non-agenda items. We do not have that on our agenda this evening, nor will we have it on our agenda for the foreseeable future.”

Public comment tied to specific agenda items will continue. The city says residents can still reach council members by email or phone, or through the MyFrisco app. Town hall meetings will also remain an option for broader feedback…
