DALLAS — No longtime SMU fans will be disappointed if this SEC-Big Ten conspiracy to control whatever develops results in the the death penalty for the NCAA. Karma is undefeated, untied and unscored up regardless how many years it takes.

While the ACC is not part of this duo, bringing them into the conversation sooner or later won’t be surprising. The Mustangs will be there this summer and it could directly affect them. This is why they wanted to be there in the first place. Athletics director Rick Hart now has something else to keep an eye on.

The press releases from the SEC and Big Ten were pretty straightforward with nothing definitive, but probably should send off alarm bells ringing at every school not in one of the big boy conferences. This has all the outward appearances of how complete insurrections begin.
