Man apprehended after fleeing major crash, manhunt in Heath

HEATH, Texas – A suspect has been apprehended following a major crash and manhunt in Heath earlier today, according to the Heath Department of Public Safety.The incident occurred early Sunday morning near Shepherds Glen Road and Ridge Road, where the occupant of a vehicle fled the scene. Authorities described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male wearing a white shirt and jeans with no shoes.Initial efforts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful, prompting the case to be forwarded to the criminal investigations division. Officers continued to patrol the area, urging residents to report any suspicious activity or vehicles.By 11:28 a.m., the suspect was found in a wooded area and taken into custody. He will be transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center. The Heath Department of Public Safety expressed gratitude to the Rockwall Police Department and Rockwall Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
