Royse City ISD Security Department makes history with addition of Safety Dog

Royse City, TX (August 5, 2024) – Much like the growing student body in Royse City ISD, the security department will welcome a new face to the team. After a year of planning and research, the district becomes the state’s first ISD security team to employ a trained weapons detection K-9 safety dog. Trained at Auburn University, a highly trained Vapor Wake® labrador retriever has been matched with RCISD Security Guard Zach Morales for this innovative and proactive new public safety measure. As a result of a partnership with Global K9’s Paws on Patrol Royse City ISD is proud to welcome “Wink” to the overall safety team.
