Carroll Shelby’s iconic 1965 Cobra is a hot rod with two identities-in one breath, its two doors, lack of a roof, short wheelbase, and nimble characteristics make it a sports car. However, with a high-performance pushrod engine that could range from 289 to 427 cubic inches under its hood, the Cobra deserves consideration in the muscle-car category, too.
