GARLAND, Texas – The Garland Police Department has identified the deceased victim in a recent fatal crash as 99-year-old Bessie Bell, of Murphy, Texas. Traffic collision investigators determined that the minivan, in which Bell was a passenger, was traveling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road when it failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto Firewheel Parkway. The minivan was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound city of Garland dump truck, according to a press release from the department.
