Plano police celebrate successful completion of women’s self-defense course

PLANO, Texas – The Plano Police Department recently celebrated the completion of its latest Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class, where a group of women successfully finished the 12-hour self-defense program designed to equip them with realistic tactics and techniques. The course, which spans several evenings throughout the year, is led by nationally certified RAD instructors. “We are proud of these women for their dedication and commitment to learning how to defend themselves,” the department stated.The classes were held at the Chase Oaks Church – Legacy Campus, with gratitude expressed to the church for providing the necessary space for this critical training.The next RAD classes are scheduled to begin in early 2025.
