Saturday signified a moment SMU faithful waited 358 days to arrive. On Sept. 1, 2023 the Mustangs officially earned an invite to the Atlantic Coast Conference, leaving behind its former home of the American Athletic Conference after 10 years and one conference championship which transpired last December. Fast-forward to Aug. 24, 2024, and SMU donned the ACC branding on its jerseys, equipment, and reputation all for the first time.
