As part of the nationwide DWI enforcement efforts, a 19-year-old was apprehended by Denton Police for driving under the influence, during the early hours of the annual Saturation Saturday crackdown. The Denton PD officer noticed the suspect’s vehicle speeding, clocking in at 63 mph in a 25 mph zone along W. Hickory Street, at around 1:30 a.m. When the officer engaged in the pursuit, the vehicle accelerated toward S. Carroll Boulevard, hitting a median and almost veering into the opposite traffic lane before finally stopping.
