Downtown Carrollton was filled with visitors on Nov. 2 as the Festival at the Switchyard returned for its 14th year. The Festival at the Switchyard honors the role the railroad played in putting the city on the map. The name comes from a railroad switchyard near Carrollton’s historic downtown area, and the tracks of the three railroad companies intersected in Carrollton, contributing to the city’s early growth.
