Hunt County authorities seize drugs and arrest two in Commerce raid

COMMERCE, Texas – A joint investigation by the Hunt County and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Offices led to a narcotics-related search warrant at an apartment complex in Commerce, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. The operation on January 2, 2025, uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs and a firearm.Investigators discovered approximately 53 grams of methamphetamine, over 100 grams of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a firearm, U.S. currency, and paraphernalia associated with drug distribution, according to the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office. Bryon Jerome Hines and Raven Simone Smith were taken into custody at the scene. Hines faces charges of manufacturing or delivery of controlled substances in Penalty Groups one and 2-2A, while Smith was booked for outstanding traffic warrants.Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones expressed gratitude to his deputies and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office for their collaboration in the investigation and execution of the search warrant.
