While the lagoon living trend continues to expand through North Texas, some folks are searching for a simpler life. If the lavish beach life isn’t for you, a new development is bringing farm living to Anna.
Tellus Group, a Prosper-based developer, has acquired 970 acres in Anna to launch the $1.5 billion Sherley Farms project. The land purchase was finalized in late December 2024, marking the first phase of this ambitious development.
Why This Is Important
Located about 20 miles south of Sherman and 40 miles north of Dallas, Anna has experienced a surge of new residents previously reported by Local Profile. With rapid growth on both sides, the town’s population is expected to double from 20,000 in 2021 to 45,000 by 2030.
To prepare for this growth, the city is investing in infrastructure improvements, including roadways and sewers, to support development throughout the city. Additionally, the permit process was streamlined to take days instead of weeks, making it easier for developers to build. And building they are.
