The search continues for a North Texas man charged with the sexual assault of a child after he severed his ankle monitor and went missing last August. The Collin County Sheriff’s Office reiterated their call for public assistance in locating 31-year-old Robert Gregory Johnson III, whose whereabouts have remained unknown since August 29, 2024. According to an article from the Star-Telegram, Johnson, who worked as an Uber driver, is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old passenger that he picked up from a medical facility in Frisco on July 9, 2024.
Johnson was arrested on July 17, 2024, and faced charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, managing to post a $200,000 bond under the condition that he wear an electronic monitoring device. The WFAA detailed that the suspect’s last known act was the cutting of his ankle monitor before disappearing.
