Grand jury indicts 2 in connection with murder of North Texas soldier, including her husband

MESQUITE, Texas — A grand jury has indicted two people in connection with the murder last year of a North Texas soldier who was stationed in Kentucky, officials say.

Katia Duenas-Aguilar, 23, of Mesquite, was found dead in her Tennessee home near an Army post in May 2024 with nearly 70 stab wounds, according to an autopsy report. Duenas-Aguilar was a 2018 graduate of North Mesquite High School.
