COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — Following a controversial Texas Lottery jackpot win through a third-party courier service, North Texas State Rep. Matt Shaheen, R-Plano, has filed a bill looking to remove the loophole.
“Texans deserve to be protected from greed, corruption and fraud,” Shaheen said in a statement about House Bill 389. “It’s time to overhaul outdated legal language that allows potential bad actors to take advantage of the lottery system. Now is the time to remedy this cause for concern.”
