On Thursday, February 27, the McKinney Christian first-grade class took part in celebrating Bug Day. All of the students dressed up as their favorite insects, such as butterflies or praying mantises. Other students dressed up as bug catchers. They started the day with a bug parade on the Lower School deck. Then, a bug scientist came to share fun facts about insects with the students. He even let them hold his Madagascar hissing cockroach. The students engaged in activities such as making and coloring a book about bugs, as well as passing captured bugs around the class to observe them.
