Man dies after leading North Texas police on chase, then jumping from I-30 bridge into lake, police say

GARLAND, Texas — A man died after leading police on a chase on Interstate 30, exiting his vehicle while it was moving, then jumping off the bridge into Lake Ray Hubbard, according to the Garland Police Department.

The incident also led to a Rowlett officer later getting struck by a suspected drunk driver as he helped block traffic near the bridge, police said.
