New Mexico High Wind Warning: 75 MPH Gusts Expected, Blowing Dust Through Tuesday

El Paso, TX – A High Wind Warning has been issued for parts of southern New Mexico and western Texas, with dangerous gusts expected to reach up to 75 mph. The warning is in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, March 18.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, strong west winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph will impact the Sacramento Mountains, Gila Region Highlands, and multiple counties in southern New Mexico and western Texas. Lower elevations, including Las Cruces, Alamogordo, and El Paso, could see sustained winds between 35 and 45 mph, with gusts reaching 60 to 70 mph.
