Texas – In a tragic incident in Texas, a 31-year-old mother, identified as M. Ottinger, and her 41-year-old boyfriend, identified as C. Link, have been arrested in connection with the death of Ottinger’s 18-month-old daughter, identified as Cora, who died after being struck by a vehicle operated by Link in the driveway of her home. Ottinger has been charged with child endangerment with serious bodily injury, while Link was detained on outstanding warrants unrelated to the incident. The distressing event unfolded on a Saturday afternoon when the mother, reportedly having dozed off in her car, failed to supervise her young daughter.
The incident occurred in the driveway of a trailer park, where Ottinger and her daughter were inside a parked vehicle. According to Sheriff E. Gonzalez, Ottinger had “passed out” or fallen asleep, during which time little Cora exited the vehicle. It was at this point that Link, arriving in another car, fatally struck the child. Responding to the scene, paramedics pronounced Cora dead on the spot. Adding to the gravity of the situation, it was noted there was a “delay” in calling 911, which has become a significant point of investigation. As per reports, Link didn’t show signs of impairment at the time of the incident.
