Just 30 minutes after issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Watch (STW) for a large swath across central Texas, the Brazos Valley, and portions of east Texas, the Storm Prediction Center has now issued a second STW that includes much of the central section of east Texas.
I don’t know why the Storm Prediction Center didn’t just include these Texas counties in the first watch issued. They both end at 1 a.m. Maybe they had not reached their ink quota for the week.
