High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest on I-30 in Hopkins County
HOPKINS COUNTY, TX – A high-speed pursuit on Interstate 30 ended in the early morning hours of March 27 with the arrest of a 28-year-old man from Pittsburg, Texas. Deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office observed a black Chevrolet Silverado traveling at an excessive speed near mile marker 127 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Instead of complying, the driver accelerated, leading deputies on a pursuit along I-30. Law enforcement reported that the vehicle continued on at high rate of speed before finally coming to a stop at mile marker 136.
The suspect, later identified as Blake Danile Lee Saylor, refused to provide identification and repeatedly responded only with the word “lawyer.” Authorities eventually identified him through official records and confirmed that Saylor did not possess a valid driver’s license…
