The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced plans to close lanes for the demolition of the bridge deck beginning on Friday. Those traveling around the IH 30 area should gear up for some nighttime detours, as the closures are set for the overnight hours from 9 PM to 5 AM, lasting until June 6.
The contractor’s crews are prepping for a full closure of John King Blvd., stretching from the IH 30 eastbound frontage road to the IH 30 westbound frontage road. According to Rockwall County, the demolition is part of infrastructure improvements and, despite the inconvenience, will pave the way for better roads ahead.
