At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2025, emergency crews responded to a serious entrapment incident involving a tractor in Wolfe City.
Wolfe City Fire Department (WCFD) Engine 1 and Squad 4, along with Hunt County EMS, arrived on scene to find a patient pinned underneath a tractor and suffering from critical injuries. Commerce Fire Department also responded, with Commerce Engine 4 assuming command of the landing zone for Air Evac 67.
Due to the severity of the victim’s condition, responders activated the crush syndrome medical protocol—a specialized treatment used when prolonged pressure causes life-threatening complications due to muscle damage.
