McKinney’s First Whole Foods Set To Open This Fall

McKinney’s West Grove District says the wait is almost over — Whole Foods Market will officially open at 8701 West University Drive just before fall arrives on Sept. 22. Consider it a seasonal gift for anyone who prefers their pumpkins organic.

The store will occupy a 45,000-square-foot space within the West Grove development, near the intersection of Custer Road and West University Drive.

The Austin-based grocery chain, known for its wide selection of natural, organic, vegan, keto-friendly and gluten-free products, has grown to over 500 locations across the U.S. The McKinney location will bring those offerings closer to Collin County shoppers.

A Growing West Grove Community

Whole Foods at  8701 W. University Drive, Ste. 300, will serve as the anchor tenant for West Grove, a 52-acre master-planned community developed by De La Vega Development. The company announced the grocery store’s arrival back in March 2022 as part of the broader vision for West Grove.

In addition to shopping, the community is expanding its residential options.
