Plano To Invest Over Half A Million Dollars In Park Enhancements

Plans to revitalize three local parks in Plano are officially underway. During a recent meeting, the city council approved approximately $629,000 to kick off the first phase of renovations at Windhaven Meadows Park, Westwood Park and Steeplechase Park.

The approved funding will be used to cover architectural and design services as the city begins planning improvements for each park. This early investment marks the beginning of the process that will ultimately bring refreshed amenities and enhancements to these community spaces.

The money will come from Plano’s 2024-25 Capital Maintenance Fund, which is dedicated to maintaining and improving existing infrastructure.

Windhaven Meadows Park: $209,150

The current playground, installed in 1996, is a top priority for replacement. Planned improvements include two age-specific playgrounds with shade structures, a pavilion, a realigned trail with fitness stations, upgraded seating and lighting, drainage fixes, irrigation upgrades and new tree plantings.
