DEL RIO, Texas — A traffic stop in Val Verde County led to the arrest of an MS-13 gang member as part of Operation Lone Star, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, when a DPS Trooper stopped a maroon Ford Taurus on U.S. 277.
The driver, 24-year-old Kieuncey Worth, of Rockwall, Texas, was found with three illegal immigrants in the back seat, including Walter Alexander Zavala Amaya, who had previously fled from DPS Troopers during a traffic stop. Zavala Amaya, identified as a member of the MS-13 terrorist organization with assistance from the U.S. Border Patrol and the Threat Screening Center, had dropped an ID card issued by El Salvador during the earlier incident.
