Hunt County Drug Bust: Two Arrested, 23 Firearms Seized in SWAT Warrant
Hunt County, TX — The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects after a SWAT-executed search warrant resulted in the seizure of narcotics, cash, and firearms.
According to the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation launched in July 2025 into reports of narcotics being sold from a home in the 10000 block of Gaillard Woods led to a search warrant served on August 27, 2025. During the investigation, deputies learned some of the drugs traced back to the residence had been obtained by minor children. Investigators determined Jeffery Burton and Amanda Burton were aware of illegal drug activity occurring inside the home.
On the day of the warrant, the Hunt County SWAT Team secured the residence so the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit could process the scene. Inside, investigators reported seizing:
- 558 grams of controlled substances
- 392 grams of marijuana
- 23 firearms
- $5,466 in cash
- THC products (wax, gummies, vape pens)
- Psilocybin mushrooms
Arrests & Charges
Both Jeffery and Amanda Burton were taken into custody and face multiple charges, including:
- Manufacturing & Delivery of a Controlled Substance >400 grams
- Possession of a Controlled Substance >4g <200g
- Possession of Marijuana >5 lbs <4 oz
- Endangering a Child
