McKinney National Airport (TKI) is in the midst of big changes. While construction continues on a new commercial passenger terminal, the airport has marked a major milestone with the opening of its own U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility.
City leaders say the addition elevates the airport into a true international gateway, strengthening its role in business aviation and long-term economic growth.
Modern Infrastructure To Support Growth
The new customs facility is designed with efficiency and security in mind. Features include private inspection areas for streamlined passenger processing, dedicated CBP officer coordination and enhanced secure entry infrastructure that cuts turnaround times for international flights.
“This is more than a building, it’s a gateway to opportunity,” said Mayor Bill Cox in an official statement. “The new customs facility gives McKinney National Airport the capacity and credibility to attract more international travelers and corporate aviation, which drives local business growth and investment.”
