Samuell Farm in Texas Elevated to Leave No Trace Gold Standard Site, a First for the State

In a move that solidifies Texas’ commitment to nature and sustainability, Samuell Farm has snagged a prestigious title that’s a first for the Lone Star State. According to the City of Dallas, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has named the park a Gold Standard Site. This honor is a nod to the farm’s efforts in fostering sustainable outdoor recreation and shaping a community aligned with the Leave No Trace principles.

Working their way up since participating in a Leave No Trace program back in 2023, Samuell Farm has not only joined but strengthened the ranks of parks dedicated to conservation. “Leave No Trace is thrilled to announce Samuell Farm as a Gold Standard Site,” said Dana Watts, Leave No Trace executive director. Echoing her sentiments, Dana’s praise is a testament to the dedication Samuell Farm’s staff and volunteers have shown, tirelessly working to protect and maintain natural spaces, per the City of Dallas.

This 400-acre park, nestled at 100 E. Highway in Mesquite is not your average green space. Samuell Farm showcases not just trails and ponds but also historical buildings that pay homage to its agricultural past. And if that’s not enough, the park also boasts being home to Dallas’ acclaimed Outdoor Adventures program, winning hearts with its blend of camping, recreation, and conservation education—catered to all age groups…
