Week of Road Closures in Rockwall County: I-30 Westbound Frontage Road and Local Routes Affected by Infrastructure Projects

Drivers planning to navigate parts of Interstate 30 this week should prepare for a series of lane closures, according to updates from the Rockwall County website. Starting Saturday, October 11, and going through to Monday, October 13, the I-30 Westbound Frontage Road will see a full closure of Townsend for the installation of a drainage pipe crossing, affecting traffic from 1 PM to 7 PM. This work is part of the continuous infrastructure development that commuters in the area have been witnessing recently.

But the work doesn’t stop there. The Rockwall County notice also details overnight closures starting today through Saturday, October 18. Those traversing I-30 Eastbound need to watch out for the left lane closure from FM 548 to FM 2642 as bridge and earthwork commence from 9 PM to 5 AM. Similar activities will affect the westbound left lane between FM 2642 and FM 548 during the same hours.

Weekday disruptions are expected as well, with flagging operations taking place at FM 548 and the closure of the East to West U-turn at FM 3549. Motorists using the I-30 Eastbound Frontage Road from FM 551 to Erby Campbell will encounter flagging operations from 9 AM to 3 PM, as crews unload drainage boxes. Overnight work, including the installation of temporary pavement markings, will affect several stretches of the Eastbound Frontage Road and the Westbound Frontage Road from Industrial Rd to E Fate Main PL and from College Ave to FM 548, respectively…
