Cheba Hut, the Colorado-based sandwich chain, officially opened its doors in McKinney. The new shop at 4610 W. University Drive welcomed guests on Nov. 10, bringing its signature “toasted” subs, cottonmouth cures and tongue-in-cheek humor to the city’s north side.
The opening marks Cheba Hut’s seventh location in North Texas and the 80th nationwide, proof that the brand’s mix of flavor and fun continues to hit just right.
Local Flavor Meets “Big Cheba Energy”
Franchise owner Bhavik Bhakta, who also runs the brand’s Denton shop, says the McKinney opening feels like a homecoming. “Cheba Hut hooked me years ago at Colorado festivals — the food, the vibe, the people,” Bhakta said, in an official statement. “Bringing that energy home has been a dream.”
True to the brand’s style, the new McKinney shop features a mural with a story. Bhakta collaborated with longtime Cheba Hut artist Finley to create a piece inspired by Bhakta’s experience as a second-generation American. The result is a psychedelic, enlightenment-style mural meant to celebrate culture, connection and what the team calls “Big Cheba Energy.”…
