So you may just now be realizing that you’re in countdown mode for finding that special gift. Even if you’ve been searching around the year for a gift for kids and grandkids, you’re pretty much stumped. They’ve got all the current cool gadget stuff and you’re trying to be creative.
Why not take full advantage of one of North Texas’ true-blue gems — the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney?
Somehow they’ve come up with a one-of-kind, G-rated come-together that can be taken in newest year.
The program is the Family Campout offering the opportunity to experience Texas wildlife, s’mores, and more in February, March and April.
In addition to making the reservations for the night out with the family, you’ll want to make your tribe look pretty spiffy by providing the essentials like your own tent (larger than 4-person size not allowed), sleeping bag(s), sleeping pads, pillows, camp chairs, hand sanitizers, necessary toiletries (contact solution, toothpaste/toothbrush, etc.), prescription medications, water bottle (guests may refill at our building), flashlights, bug sprays, snacks, change of clothes and appropriate closed-toed shoes; weather-appropriate clothing as necessary and sleepwear.
Suggestion: Have personalized T-shirts produced to commemorate the occasion with — “I went wild with my herd at the Heard”…
