A familiar North Texas seafood name is expanding its Plano footprint. Flying Fish, the fast-casual seafood restaurant founded by Dallas restaurateurs Shannon Wynne and Larry Richardson, is set to open a new location in January at 4032 Preston Road, in the former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit space.
Inspired by laid-back East Texas seafood joints near area lakes, especially Caddo Lake, Flying Fish has built a loyal following across Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee. The Preston Road opening will serve West Plano, complementing the brand’s existing Plano location near Park Boulevard and the Dallas North Tollway.
A Menu Built Around Familiar Favorites
Flying Fish is known for a broad menu that balances classic Southern comfort with customizable seafood plates. Offerings include grilled fish prepared traditionally, snappy or with garlic butter, along with crab, oysters and shrimp. Fried catfish and fish fillets remain staples, while po’ boys, jambalaya, grits and gumbo round out the lineup.
Ice-cold beer, wine and margaritas are also part of the experience, keeping the atmosphere casual and approachable for lunch, dinner or weekend meals. Most entrées and po’ boys typically fall in the $12 to $18 range, making it an accessible option for both weekday lunches and relaxed dinners.
Weekly Specials And Kid-Friendly Options
