Plano’s brunch faithful will have to find a new spot for cinnamon rolls and Normandy French toast. Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery quietly served its last meal at Lakeside Market after Christmas Eve, closing its Plano outpost at 4021 Preston Road, according to the restaurant’s social media.

In an Instagram post, the chain told customers that “as our lease comes to an end, our Plano location will be closing after Christmas Eve,” according to Community Impact. The message added that “the gratitude we feel for this community will last forever,” a sign-off aimed at regulars who made the spot a weekend habit over the years.

In the usual post-holiday lag, some online listings are still catching up. Local tourism and dining directories continue to show the former Lakeside Market address and phone number as if nothing has changed. For instance, Visit Plano still lists Bread Winners at 4021 Preston Road with its contact details.

Other Area Locations And Options

Plano may be out, but Bread Winners is not gone from North Texas. The chain continues to operate other DFW cafes, including locations in Uptown and NorthPark in Dallas and a newer shop in Allen, according to the brand’s site.
