McKinney To Host First-Ever BMW Half Marathon

McKinney will mark a major milestone this spring as it hosts its first-ever half-marathon. On March 28, 2026, the city will debut the McKinney Historic Half Presented by BMW, a brand-new race designed to showcase McKinney’s historic charm, outdoor spaces and growing reputation as a destination for community-centered events.

More than a competitive race, the inaugural event is positioned as a celebration of fitness, family and hometown pride, offering runners and spectators a chance to experience McKinney in an entirely new way.

A First For McKinney’s Race Scene

Hosted at TUPPS Brewery, the McKinney Historic Half brings the Dallas BMW Marathon organization’s established race standards to McKinney for the first time. The scenic course will wind through the city’s historic downtown, tree-lined neighborhoods and park system, highlighting the character that has helped McKinney grow while maintaining a strong sense of place.

For runners, the inaugural race represents a rare opportunity to be part of a city’s first major distance event, setting the tone for what organizers hope will become an annual tradition.
