On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Hunt County deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle within county limits. A deputy later spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over and accelerated.
Additional units joined the pursuit, and deputies were ultimately able to bring the vehicle to a stop. With weapons drawn, deputies ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. He was taken into custody without further incident.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located drug paraphernalia. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Jeremy Duane Wright of Greenville, Texas. Wright was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His total bond was set at $50,000…
