Texas sports agent indicted on wire fraud charges

TAMPA, Florida — Lucas Mirtl, a 42-year-old from Prosper, Texas, has been indicted on four counts of wire fraud, according to United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. If convicted, Mirtl faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each count.

The indictment alleges that Mirtl, while working as a sports agent for a Los Angeles-based sports marketing and talent management company, defrauded two clients of hundreds of thousands of dollars between August 2023 and January 2025. Mirtl reportedly accessed bank accounts containing funds from his clients’ professional activities and withdrew money without authorization for personal use over approximately 18 months.
