There’s a quiet resilience behind the story of Nidhi Caterers, one that begins far from North Texas and unfolds through persistence, adaptation, and food made with purpose. Owner Nidhi Mittal was born and raised in India before moving to the Plano area in 2017 with her husband and two children, drawn by the promise of opportunity and a better life in America. Like many immigrant stories, it started small—and uncertain.

Their first step into business was modest: a deli tucked inside an office building, sustained almost entirely by the tenants who worked there. It was steady, local, and practical. Then the pandemic hit. With offices empty and foot traffic gone overnight, the deli model no longer worked. Faced with that reality, Nidhi did what many cooks do in moments of pressure—she turned to what she knew best.
