Before I started covering the Texas Lottery last summer, I always assumed most of the big $1 million jackpot winners typically hit it big with Powerball. But that’s hardly the case in my experience. According to a press release, the latest jackpot winner is a Frisco resident who scored $2 million in the Golden Riches game. The winning ticket was purchased at Tom Thumb #2581, located at 4848 Preston Road, in Frisco. As is usually the case, the winner chose to remain anonymous.
The Texas Lottery isn’t done giving away millions in the Golden Riches game. That was only the first of four $2 million jackpots to be claimed. There are also 22 $10,000 prizes in the game that have yet to be claimed. Overall, Golden Riches will pay more than $181.2 million in prizes.
