North Texas-based composer and VOCES8 Composer in Residence Taylor Scott Davis describes his new Requiem as being “a Requiem for our time. It’s about sitting with one another in grief and in hope without needing all of the answers.” The work is the centerpiece of “i carry your heart’ on Decca, recorded by VOCES8, the renowned GRAMMY-nominated British vocal ensemble. Davis visited with Amy Bishop to talk about the new album, the compositional process and origins of his Requiem, and a special Palm Sunday event at St. Andrew Methodist Church in Plano to celebrate the album’s international debut.
