On March 28, 2026, at about 6:28 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 2000 block of Laura Street in Caddo Mills about a person yelling threats toward a home. The man ran into a nearby field and attacked officers as they tried to arrest him. After assistance from the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Caddo Mills Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance, the subject was taken into custody. Two officers were hospitalized at Hunt County Regional Hospital for observation. The suspect was booked into Hunt County Jail on charges of:
