Homeowner and McKinney in court again over damage claim – nearly six years later, faces potential $60K payout

MCKINNEY, Texas — Nearly six years have passed since a man, on the run from police and recognizing a home where he’d worked as a handyman before, forced his way into Vicki Baker’s house in McKinney and barricaded himself inside.

After a hearing in New Orleans Monday, Baker may be closer to receiving the $60,000 she believes the City of McKinney still owes her…maybe.

On July 25, 2020, a man named Wesley Little broke into Baker’s home and held a 15-year-old girl hostage. Baker was in Montana at the time, but her daughter, still living at the property, escaped and called 911. Little released the teen but refused to surrender. SWAT officers moved in, launching roughly 30 tear gas canisters, breaching doors, and tearing down a fence with an armored vehicle. When they entered, they found Little had died by suicide…
