McKinney man sentenced to 15 years for drug trafficking in Texas

SHERMAN, Texas — A McKinney man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine in the Eastern District of Texas, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Eraldo Orozco-Fernandez, a 34-year-old, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine. He was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant III on April 14, 2026.

Court documents revealed that on March 31, 2023, Orozco-Fernandez was stopped for a traffic violation in McKinney. A search of his vehicle uncovered approximately 3.76 kilograms of cocaine, a firearm, and over $2,800 in cash. Further investigation at his McKinney residence led to the discovery of another eight kilograms of methamphetamine, approximately one kilogram of cocaine, and $6,000 in U.S. currency.
