ABILENE, Texas — Wylie Independent School District Superintendent Joey Light announced his retirement Tuesday after more than four decades in education, including nearly 20 years leading the district as superintendent.
Light has served as Wylie ISD superintendent since 2008 and is expected to remain in the role through Sept. 30, 2027, according to district officials. The district noted that the leadership transition could begin before that date.
